Free Photo Editing Software: Easy Picture Management
Free photo editing software downloads make it quick and easy to organize your
photo library. The popularity of digital cameras presents a problem for many
people - what to do with all those digital image files.
Not Free, but the Best
The standard and industry leader in photo editing software is Adobe's
PhotoShop. It will do just about anything you could want or imagine. But for the
average user there are two problems. The first is cost. At around $600 it ain't
cheap. The second issue is its complexity. Quite simply, learning how to use
PhotoShop isn't easy.
Fortunately for those of us who don't have money to burn or the time or
inclination to master these professional level software programs, there are many
free editing programs available.
Darn Good Freeware and Shareware
Most are shareware, meaning you must register and submit to upgrade ads. But
it's a small price to pay. Some of the more popular free photo editing programs
are as follows.
Our friends at Google have a handy free software program called
Picasa
that makes photo management a snap. It will quickly find, organize and label
every picture on your computer. Multiple edit functions allow photo
manipulation. Create movies, slideshows, photo CDs, share with friends and more
with this easy to use editing program.
Another popular free photo editor is Preclick Silver. It has many of the same features as Picasa and a $20
upgrade to the Gold version that will do even more. GIMP is open-source software with features
similar to PhotoShop.
Free and shareware software programs that feature painting as well as editing
functions include Ultimate Paint,
VicMan and
Pixia.
