Digital Cameras Dominate the Market
More than half of U.S. households now own digital cameras, and the number is
growing daily. The quality of
digital photography has improved so much that even
prestigious publications like Arizona Highways – renowned for striking
large-format photos – are going digital. The digital phenomenon is
revolutionizing cameras and how we take pictures.
Photography Simplified
Gone are the days of fumbling with film and taking several shots of the
same
scene, hoping at least one of them captures what we want. A digital camera lets us snap the picture and
view it
immediately on the camera’s screen. If we don't like it, we
simply erase it and take the shot again.
And once we have exactly the photos we want in the camera’s memory, one of
the many reliable
photo printers on the market will deliver finished
photos that are virtually indistinguishable from processed film prints. To make
it even easier, almost every
photo processing service today will print pictures
from both digital and film cameras.
Digital Surpasses Film
By late 2005, sales of digital cameras, storage media and accessories had
eclipsed that of film cameras, film and accouterments. And for good reason...
With digital there’s no film wasted on bad
shots – in fact no film to buy at all. This savings alone quickly makes up
for the somewhat higher initial cost of the camera and media. Photography has
never been easier, nor cameras as simple to use as they are today.
Not Just for Snapshots…
No longer limited to point-and-shoot cameras, the digital SLR camera opens a
whole world of possibilities to the serious photographer. Interchangeable lenses
and
digital camera accessories give us the flexibility only an SLR offers.
Improved technology and increased production means digital cameras offer more features and
flexibility at lower prices.
If you’ve never owned one of these high-tech cameras, now’s the time. Compare
digital cameras and you’re sure to find exactly what you want. And if you’ve had
one for a while, it’s probably time to take another look – the advancements will
blow you away!
